After winning the County Cup this year, Hurricanes were entered into the Tesco Cup to represent Manchester FA.

The Northern Regional Finals saw the representatives from all the participating FAs from the North of England come together for a day long tournament. The winners going on to the National Finals at the Walkers Stadium, home of Leicester City.

It is with great pride that we can announce that Reddish Vulcan's Under 13s, the Hurricanes, were worthy winners, and will now represent the North of England in the National Final!!!

The group stage saw us go up against teams from Cheshire, Northumberland and Westmorland. After the 3 matches, we had claimed all 9 points and hadn't conceded a goal. The boys played really well and were too much to handle for the other teams.

In the semi-finals we faced East Riding who, to quote Ged, were like "man mountains". Possibly some of the biggest and stongest boys we have ever played against. These boys hadn't lost a match in 2 years. That was before they met us!!! Our boys were strong and agile and as ever played as a team, for each other. These attributes again proving their worth. The Hurricanes reached the final.

In the final we again met Northumberland, who had got through the group stage as the best second placed team. After a long day, and 5 matches, would the Hurricanes maintain their form. Of course they would!!!

Hurricanes were crowned winners!!!! Along with his winners medal, Gman also received a trophy as one of the players of the tournament.

Well done to all the boys and Ged. Most of whom were off to celebrate in front of the box, watching their second favourite football team, who sadly for them didn't quite complete the day in the style they would have liked.
