Thunderbirds Triumph at "The Battle of Hattersley"
15/10/2007
Our opponents decided early on that they were no match in the football department, and adopted the kick and run tactic, unfortunately the kicks had little contact with the ball and were aimed more in the direction of the T-Birds lower limbs. This was more like war than football, this brought to mind the words of Shakespeare " when the blast of war blew in their ears the boys imitated the action of the tiger, stiffened the sinews, summonded up the blood and disguised fair nature with hard favoured rage and when faced with the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, took up arms against this sea of troubles." Then in the dying minutes the band of brothers scored a goal of such quality that they could not be denied victory.
